                                                      What Is Individual Therapy?

Most Americans will suffer from a mental health problem at some point in their life. Mood and Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health problems, and counseling can be a very effective form of treatment for these and most other mental illnesses. For more information see the National Institute of Mental Health website: www.nimh.nih.gov

Seeking Individual Outpatient Therapy is a choice and there are many reasons why people come to therapy. Sometimes it’s upon recommendations from a primary care physician, family member, or friend; plain curiosity or know someone who has benefited; currently experiencing personal challenges or sudden change in one’s life; lacks helpful supports or resources;  is experiencing unmanageable symptoms, e.g., prolonged depressed mood, panic, poor sleep pattern, racing thoughts, tension, worry, etc. Working with a therapist can help provide: insight, support, potential for growth, motivation, changes, and new strategies for all types of life challenges. Therapy can help address many types of issues including depression, anxiety, grief, stress management, career and general life transitions, and more. Therapy is right for anyone who is interested in getting the most out of life by taking responsibility, creating greater self-awareness, and working towards transformation or change.
